notr palette front

At first sight, this appears to be a very basic palette, and for the most part it is. However, Urban Decay really brings it with this one. With six ALL NEW shadows, bronzer, blush, lip gloss, eyeliner, and mascara, this palette is PERFECTION for traveling! Everything you really need (save for foundation and concealer) is all packed in one tidy box. The fact that it has a massive mirror in it is a huge added bonus! The packaging is strong and sturdy! You can always swap out your favorite gloss and liners in this case because they feature a full size version — how awesome is that!?

My future sister-in-law, Jessie, and I decided to put it to the test! Given our different styles, we knew we’d both create very different looks. Here’s a breakdown of what the palette includes:

1. Perversion Mascara in “Blackest Black”

2. 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in “Stag”

3. Naked Lipgloss in “Sesso”

4. Eyeshadows (from left to right)

  • Dive (metallic rose with light gold mirco-shimmer)
  • Fix (soft matte taupe)
  • Resist (medium metallic grey/taupe/plum)
  • Dare (medium brown matte)
  • Stun (metallic bronze with gold micro-shimmer)
  • 5050 (cool bisque satin with slight shimmer that doubles as a highlighter)

5. Bronzer (medium matte bronze)

6. Blush (vibrant warm pink with slight shimmer)

One palette, two looks — the end result:

One Palette: Two Looks
One Palette: Two Looks

First, let’s talk about the eyeshadows!! Wow! I’m in love! They are super pigmented and soft, which makes them easily blendable. Urban Decay generally has the softest shadows ever, and these are no different. The colors are great for just about everyone. While we only created two different looks, this palette has the possibility to create thousands of different looks. I personally enjoy that there are two matte colors in this palette, which appeals to all ages and allows for a deeper look.

Candice's Look: I used Fix in the crease; Dare in the outer corner and along the bottom lashline; Resist on the eyelid; and a light dab of Stun on the outer "c" of the eye. I used the 24/7 liner in the water line and along the top lashline; the bronzer to contour, the 5050 to highlight; and the blush as normal. I also used one coat of the mascara, and then added a second coat with my L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess.

Jessie's Look: Jessie opted for Resist in the Crease and Dive on the Lid with the 24/7 liner on the top lashline and two coats of the Perversion mascara on the top lashes only. She also used the bronzer, 5050, and blush as I did. We think this look is a GREAT contender for her wedding day makeup!

Next, the blush bronzer duo. I really really liked this blush. It’s a warm pink, and it’s extremely pigmented, so a light hand goes a long way. As you can tell from the photos, it’s a color that works well with very different skin tones. The bronzer, however, was not my favorite. While it has good pigmentation, it’s very warm and has some red-orange tones to it. It can crossover as a blush for that reason. For me, I felt it was a tad too orange to use for contouring, but works well for a general bronze glow.

The eyeshadow in “5050” is gorgeous and doubles as a highlighter/luminizer! I loved it as a highlighter because it’s insanely subtle giving you that nice glow without looking like you’ve packed on the shimmer. This allows the light to reflect on the high points of the face giving you that “glow from within” look.

The Perversion mascara is really great, and featured here in a deluxe travel size. It’s a slightly wet formula with a lovely fluffy bristle brush. My personal opinion is that it needs a bit of drying out time to be amazing, but it gives you soft voluminous fluttery lashes. Jessie absolutely loved it. It was very much “her kind of mascara!” I’d like to give it another go in a few weeks when it’s had time to dry out a bit.

The 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil is in a deep brown satin. This stuff goes on so smoothly and stays put all night long! Once it’s on, it’s on! If you are planning to use this for smudging with a smokey eye, I’d recommend smudging immediately after application, otherwise, you’ll be left with some smudge and a line.

The full-size lip-gloss is stunning. It’s that perfect rose shade for everyone — a “your lips but better” color. The sheen on the lips is soft shiny and beautiful. It’s a gloss, so it doesn’t stay put for long, but it works really well over a nude lipstick. (I used it over MAC’s Modesty later in the night so as not to have to keep reapplying.) The applicator is a little longer than most and slightly angled, which provides for smooth and easy application.

All in all, this palette is a must have if you are constantly on the go. It travels easily, and gives you so many options to transition from day to night wherever you are! Because everything in here is neutral, it’s a great gift for any skin tone, haircolor, or eyecolor! It’s limited edition, so snatch yours up before they’re gone!

Which look is your favorite? What will you create with this palette? Let us know in the comments! Thanks to Jessie for helping me out and modeling for this post! Love you!

Stay Glittery, Beauties!

xoxo,

Candice
